The Doctor takes Clara to Nottingham in the 12th century, so that she can see that Robin Hood is merely a legend with no basis in reality. However, when they arrive they discover that Robin is alive and well… and so is the Sheriff of Nottingham, who is conspiring with alien robots to conquer England.
