Benjamin Bon Jovi “Ben” Wheeler (Jean-Luc Bilodeau, Kyle XY, Supernatural) is a young man in his early 20s, who makes his living as a bartender in New York City. Together with his brother, Daniel “Danny” J. Wheeler (Derek Theler, Cougar Town, The Middle), and his best friend, Tucker Dobbs (Tahj Mowry, Friends, Desperate Housewives), he flies with the owl. However, Ben’s life is about to take an unexpected turn. One day, a former sweetheart leaves on his doorstep a surprise in the shape of a baby girl.

Having to face the facts, Ben decides to raise the child with the help of his mother, Bonnie Wheeler (Melissa Peterman, Working Class, Retired at 35), his brother, his comrade and his close friend, Riley Perrin (Chelsea Kane, One Tree Hill, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation). Ben and Danny’s protective and sometimes tyrannical mother, Bonnie dreamed of being a model, but never “recovered” after having Danny. She thinks that Ben isn’t ready to take care of a baby because she still “buys his pants”. A professional hockey player, Danny recently shifted his lodging to New York and moved in with the boys. Ben’s buddy and roommate, Tucker is hail-fellow-well-met with everybody so long as they don’t eat all his food. Last but not least, Riley used to be the overweight girl next door. With the lapse of time, she blossomed into a beautiful young woman, who has a secret crush on Ben. While the latter is clueless about the fact that Riley fell for him, she is similarly unaware that Danny lost his heart to her.
