Description by couchtuner for24 S3E1 : Three years have passed since the events of Day Two. A van deposits a dead body outside the LA Health Unit, infected with a deadly virus. Jack and his new partner, Chase Edmunds, witness a deal to be signed with Ramon Salazar, a drug lord that Jack helped take down, working under cover for several months within the organization. Palmer survived the assassination attempt on his life, and returns to LA for the first time since that attack. He is running for re-election and is preparing for an important debate with a rival senator. A young boy, Kyle Singer, is seen examining a large, mysterious bag of white powder. To keep an eye on his daughter, Jack got Kim a job at CTU, but unbeknownst to him, she has been dating Chase.
